{PassionHR} Re: [TrainersNetwork-OMI] Re: India is nowhere near recession

Dear friends,

I am taking recession As a time of conversion .It is a good opportunity to improve our worksytles, lifestyles.
At the same time ,it is examination of relationships & understanding between people.
We must take recession in realistic & positive way.

In my limited observation the crisis is real. People are facing order cancellation and hence have to close shops at times. The reactions are different and in some sectors there may be little overreaction. I have been visiting factories and offices and talking to people.

But this is also a good time to bargain if you have the cash. Right time for acquisitions is now. Also this is the right time to cut the fat or the inefficiencies in our operations.

I have read a lot on recession.
And I am also running a training company.
I have a mixed feeling. There is recession and there is no recession.
When we talk of technical terms, there is no recession.
When we talk of business - there 'is'. The queries have reduced, business has slowed down, though personally we are maintaining a steady balance sheet.
But what is also true is the trend of some organisations are taking undue advantage of the situation and bargaining for low prices. At the receiving end, people are succumbing to pressures of this 'notional' crisis and accepting low prices. Cutting costs, closing shops and factories are more of a preventive action, as a result of some panic situation, more than a financial compulsion. That is one impression I have got. Maybe I am not fully aware, but please correct me if I am wrong.

Best wishes
Sushil
